Unknown music starts to play

Then the words "Behind The Curtain" appears in red

"The" below "Behind" and "Curtain" below "The"

The words disappear five seconds later

Behind The Curtain Episode 5: Alana Reeves Mini_Alana%20ReevesBehind The Curtain Episode 5: Alana Reeves Mini_Sandra%20Evans

Alana Reeves is seen sat on a motorbike that she has been parked with Sandra Evans sitting right behind her, both have their helmets off

After getting off the motorbike, Alana and Sandra make their way over to a round table

Alana is wearing black jeans, black biker boots, black biker gloves and a black biker jacket

Sandra has a biker jacket on too

Alana and Sandra Evans sit down at the table

Alana on the right, Sandra to the left

Its an early, warm, evening

Sandra Evans: Hello everyone.
And welcome to our fifth edition of Behind The Curtain.
Right here, in Chicago, Illinois.
And with me right now.....

Sandra and Alana look towards each other

Sandra Evans: Outside what the brits would call a pub.
Is a lady who has just given me my first EVER, ride on a motorbike.
The second generation wrestler known as, Alana Reeves.
Alana, thanks for the ride.
That was great

Alana Reeves: Thank you for inviting me to partake
in this interview Sandra.
I always wanted to know what the "buzz" is all about.

Sandra Evans: You're welcome Alana.
And since you drove me here, I guess its best to start off this interview talking about motorbikes

-- A short glimpse of the bike used by the two women --

-- A 2009 Ducati Monster, 1100 --

-- Comes in red color with a modified exhaust --

Alana Reeves: Certainly.

-- Chuckle --

Alana Reeves: This one is carrying a lot of sentimental value actually.
It's famous for the advance build and design for comfort and speed.

1078cc engine. 11,46 secs for a 1/4 mile acceleration.
Unfortunately with a peak power of only 95bhp and a maximum speed of 125mph
it isn't going to set anyone's world alight but the way the V-twin delivers the power
is a seamless, grunty character-laden joy.
I am so happy that it ended in my garage.

Sandra Evans: Its well known that you have a passion for motorbikes.
And generally, high speed vehicles.
How did this come about?

Alana Reeves: I told myself that I am definitely not going to make
this interview all about my dad but.. I guess the simple answer is always in the genetics.
If we look back at that Ducati. It was my father who bought it after one of his stints in Eastern Europe.
It might come as a shock for some of you used to seeing him wearing tights on TV
and making other people's lives a "living hell"...

-- Chuckle --

Alana Reeves: But he is actually a great father. He's always been there for me and my brothers

even though his marriage didn't work out. Speaking of my siblings, Bryan you know as the youngest.
Myself being the second oldest of the three and our older brother, Michael who "thankfully" decided to pursue a different

career path by recently becoming a certified Neurosurgeon in Miami.

-- A brief look at the camera with a wide smile --

Alana Reeves: I love you Mickey.

-- She blows him kisses before turning back at Sandra --

Alana Reeves: Between these two I literally found myself in the middle.
And to answer your question, I literally didn't feel any obligations
to do what I must do for the benefit of the family name..
Michael wished to do better than my father just in a different sphere.

We all knew that Bryan was going to be a wrestler ever
since he spoke his first word "champion".

I instead got focused on the things I found interesting in the world.
Speed, Sports, Adrenaline.. Boys (bad ones)

-- Both women laugh --

Alana Reeves: It's just me.. it's not something I found special or anything
it's just the way I always felt I should live my life.
No questions asked and no answers being given (unless I want to give them).

Sandra Evans: Well there is a saying.
You only get one chance to live a life.
Live it the best possible way.
Your way

Alana Reeves: Without regrets.
And without apologies.

Sandra Evans: Besides motorbikes and high speed vehicles, you have quite a passion for sports.
Especially, Wrestling.
And has you just said, your younger brother Bryan was destined to be a wrestler.
From the very moment he said his very first word.
But what for you, got you interested in the Wrestling business?

Alana Reeves: Oh, this is a hard one.
I think it was an old VHC tape
I watched once with Bryan.
Some 80s stuff, it wasn't even a popular fight.
I remember seeing one of the not so popular names

like Steve Knowles or Sean Ryker.
They used to be pretty big back then..

but what I can remember to this day was the
ease with how they moved.
Like.. the smoothness of their movement.
These two were so ahead of their time.
I have never seen more beautiful Knee-drop then the one of Steve.
I not only took it up as a form of art.. but as a challenge.

A challenge to push myself forward as an athlete.
We both decided to start training the following day but it was only me "getting the rub".
My father never wanted Bryan to wrestle.. but that's a story for another time

Behind The Curtain Episode 5: Alana Reeves Empty Re: Behind The Curtain Episode 5: Alana Reeves

Post by Jason M. Reeves Mon Jun 22, 2020 11:05 pm

Sandra Evans: Which either your father or Bryan may tell in a future interview.
But like you said, thats for another time.
So the day after watching this old tape, you and Bryan started training.
And as part of your training over time, you used different fighting styles.
Like Kickboxing.
Jiu-Jitsu.
And Muay Thai.
All of these proved to be of big importance to you.
As you would adapt them to your in-ring style when you finally got to wrestle in Ring Of Glory

Alana Reeves: I was prominent in all of them.
Not gonna be modest on this one.
I was capable, talented and willing to do the work.

Three of the most dangerous weapons you can have at your arsenal.
There's just this weird feeling when it comes to combat sports for me.
You always try to maximize your movement to get the advantage.

Time passes. You progress.
Then you start to realize that it's not just about muscle memory and fitness.
While in combat you have to adapt, think and outwit your opponent

so you can get the edge. Fights are won and lost by the course of one mistakes.
One mistake to take or loose your advantage.
It's a big game.
Once you get to see each fight as a "chess game" then you meet with the struggle.
You won't get far in life without being smart in how you pick your fights. It's just a fact.

Sandra Evans: And since I did mention them, lets talk about Ring Of Glory.
You signed up for them.
But before you could make your official debut, you suddenly left.
You left Ring Of Glory.
How did you come about signing up for them?
And what were the reasons that made you leave before you were able to make your debut?

Alana Reeves: As the story goes my father and my husband had some "heat" going on.
It wasn't just an angle thing.
They legitimately didn't see eye to eye about anything to be fair.
My father didn't like him when he first came to ROG.
He tried to make his life here even harded instead of helping him with the environment.
Constant quarrels backstage. Outburst during tours.
The things got even worse once he found out that we were dating.
He got really [beep!] pissed.

I mean.. really, really pissed.
We wouldn't talk for days.
He even went as far as to pitch for Geoff's release.

I had no other choice. I had to move ahead the events.
It was the only chance I had to be with the man I love

and at the same time keep what's left of Sr.'s sanity.

Sandra Evans: But despite all that, you eventually returned.
To Ring Of Glory.
And became a manager for Sonic.
What made you decide to return?

Alana Reeves: It was my 23rd birthday.
We had a lot of friends flying over to Chicago
my husband and I wanted it to be a "huge" thing.
A lot of wrestlers, models, athletes.
The man I didn't expected to see was the same man who gifted me his own motorbike.
This bike.

-- Both glance back at the Ducati --

Alana Reeves: He came around. He apologized,
he looked humbled. I have never seen Jason Reeves humbled before that.
He told Sonic that he accepts him as his son-in law.

Even offered us to work out a program with him
which resulted in their embrace after the "Asylum" match.
Thankfully we haven't had one of those ever since.

Sandra Evans: But even though you were a manager, you were also shown not to be afraid of getting into the ring.
And getting physical.
The best example of this was during a match between Sonic.
And Super Girl.
When after the match, you sat yourself down on Super Girl's back.
And put her in what you call, The Snapper

Alana has a small smile appear across her face

Sandra Evans: The first time you got physical in anyway in the ring, you get the better of maybe, the greatest female wrestler to have ever stepped into Ring Of Glory.
The same Super Girl who you gave a very rare submission loss to to win the Glory Women's Championship later on down the line with Alexis Covell

Alana Reeves: There's no much to add into Super Girl's account
.
She had it coming for a long time.

You've heard the saying.. a "Reeves never forgets", right?

Sandra Evans: Indeed.
That is something I've heard quite a bit over the years.
A Reeves never forgets.
And one thing we should never forget is the success you've had inside the squared circle.
Since you became more than just a manager.
And started to wrestle.
Success which includes and it has been mentioned, you making Super Girl tap to win the Glory Women's Championship with Alexis Covell.
What was it like for you winning your first title in Ring Of Glory?
And not just ANY title.
The Glory Women's Championship itself.
By defeating a ROG legend like Super Girl who previously had only tapped out to lose a match once before

Alana Reeves: I don't have it in my vocabulary to explain exactly what I felt.
It may have not been seen as much "on screen" but..

backstage.
Both of us had a breakdown, it was emotional.
We got embraced in the most organic, compelling matter by everyone there.
Seeing the faces of our "rocks" filling up with tears of joy.
The two man who raised us, made us who we are. Gave us a chance at life..

that.. that right there was magical.
I wish everyone could feel what we felt that night for the rest of their time.
That is also to what we're still striving.
That is why we do what we do.

Sandra Evans: And so here you are.
Right now.
Having lets be honest, not been particularly long in the Wrestling business.
And yet, you have done and been involved in a lot already.
From being a part of the legendary feud with Sonic and your father.
Which featured that famous "Asylum" match.
To making your presence known physically in the ring for the first time.
When you put Super Girl in The Snapper.
To handing Super Girl only her second tap out loss to win the Glory Women's Championship along with Alexis Covell.
Being part of a successful stable with Sonic and Desmond Curtis.
And most recently, having some of the best matches of your career against Aid

Alana Reeves: I was taught to believe that there is a right time for everything..
but as a part of the younger millennial generation I find believing in that
to be awfully odd. When you want something you should just go and take it.
"F#%K what other people say. Use your own head. Make your own decisions."
that's what I choose to believe in.
People often take their "freedom" with neglect.
That's something I've learned along the way.
I've never been a "bookworm" like my brothers.
What I've learned, minus the university..

is solely based on experiences and interactions.
Time is money, for some. For me, time is success.
Once you decide what you want you want of your life
you shouldn't waste a second.

Sandra Evans: And yet even with everything that you've done so far.
All the success that you've had.
Theres still a lot more to come from you

Alana Reeves: You can say that again, Sandra.
I am just getting started. What's next for me is going to be

even bigger than what I am leaving behind.
Never dwell on the past unless you have something to learn from it.
Once you take your lessons you should only move forward.
It was an honor fighting with Aid. Even though I failed in beating him,
I think it was pretty clear to everyone that there wasn't a looser that night.
In the end I got what I truly should've been going after.
I won his admiration and respect. I won the ROG Universe's admiration and respect.
My only regret is that I wasn't open about it. I should've been straight with Aid

from the beginning not relating to my "old habits" to get to the match.
But hey.. we learn

Sandra Evans: So looking back on your career up to this point.
When you started out, did you imagine that you would have had the success and career that you've had so far?

-- Alana chuckles to the questions --
-- Almost finds it sarcastic even --

Alana Reeves: C'mon girl, really..really?
You're asking a Reeves about whether or not she believed
she can achieve as much as she has achieved up to this point..
what did you expected to hear, honestly...

-- Sandra joins in realizing that the answer has already
been given in an indirect-direct way --

Behind The Curtain Episode 5: Alana Reeves Empty Re: Behind The Curtain Episode 5: Alana Reeves

Post by Jason M. Reeves Wed Jun 24, 2020 3:53 pm

Sandra Evans: Fair point Alana.
Fair point.
So now at this point we're not far off from the en do fthis interview.
But before that, we come to this.
The fun part of the interview

Alana Reeves: The fun part?
The part where I give my thoughts on certain people?

Sandra Evans: Yes.
Thats what it is.
I've got a feeling that you may well enjoy this

Alana Reeves: You might be right Sandra.
Bring the names on.
Feed them to me

Sandra Evans: Okay.
You asked for them.
Here they come

Alana Reeves: Right.

Sandra Evans: First one up.
Is a good one to start off with.
Your own brother.
Bryan

Alana Reeves: We're getting ahead of ourselves
now are we? But still. It is what it is so.. about my brother.
I'm the big sis so I am allowed to be hard on him.
He is as lazy as he is smart and talented.
I am not even gonna go through his problems because that

topic I consider too personal.
As a wrestler he is amazing. A prodigy. I am yet to see a better

wrestler than my brother including my dad.
As a human, he has much to learn and a lot more of growing up to do.
Hopefully he will maintain his current rate.
I am not sure if he will be allowed to compete again but if he does..

expect to see big things from him.

Sandra Evans: "Menacing" Marcus Monroe

Alana Reeves: Ah. I can say a lot about Marcus Monroe.
For one he is one of my biggest pears along with Adrian.
He's been there for me, giving me advice anytime I needed it.
I respect him as much as I respect my brothers and I even look

up to him as one. His story is amazing, his interview was right on spot.
A true professional, loyal to the business. Constantly improving and learning.
Just look at him, Sandra. He is so good at what he does that the marks actually forget
about the "keyfabe" and the storytelling.

Sandra Evans: First female wrestler to mention.
SJ Pandora

Alana Reeves: Seems okay, haven't talked that much.
Haven't worked much together either.
I think she's reliable... but she's so annoying

-- chuckles --

Alana Reeves: I remember one time the two running around stealing
stuff from the guys lockers and stashing it into ours.
But I admit it was fun seeing them running down half naked
pointing fingers at management.

Sandra Evans: Cartwriting

Alana Reeves: With Carty my answers will be more observation based.
We haven't had a lot of time to talk about and connect on personal level
but I think he's one of the "dying" breed in the business.
They guy's done it all. The fact that he's still around, willing

to share his knowledge and make sure the industry stays safe and prominent after him
is admirable. I like people who are like that.

Sandra Evans: SM HeartBreaker

Alana Reeves: Same as Cartwright. Maybe the only difference being in that
that I've had more time to get to know him. One of the first guys to come to you and
try to figure out what you want to do and how you like doing it.
If you miss something he's there to guide. All you need to do is ask.

Smart guy. Polite. Helpful. Totally different person then what you see on TV,
which can only serve as proof of how good of a wrestler he really is.

Sandra Evans: "American Samurai" Max Thomas

Alana Reeves: One of the guys I used to look up to when I was a kid.
He's got a lot of "grit". A term that been surfacing a lot lately.
He's traveled the world, wrestled everywhere. In front of 40 and 40,000+ people.

A deserving World Champion. I wish to work an angle with him someday
that way u'll know how good one truly is.

Sandra Evans: Now someone who has been mentioned quite a few times.
During this interview.
Super Girl

Alana Reeves: I like Super Girl, as a professional.
On a personal level she needs to "loose it up a notch here and there".
You can't be married to your job that's a lot of pressure for me.

Sandra Evans: One of Canada's greatest female wrestlers.
Lacey

Alana Reeves: One of the best to ever do it.
An inspiration for me and I am sure

for many more to come. Naming her as the
top technician in ROG just a few years back would be
considered as "taboo" but not at this era. She's earned it
and I'm looking forward to locking it down together again.

Sandra Evans: Another Canadian female wrestler.
Eve Star

Alana Reeves: I don't know a lot about Eve.
My first contact with her was in my early teens.
She used to date my dad for a while.. things didn't work out.
I don't know which one rode the other's cocktails at that point

but it doesn't matter. Eve's proven that she can stand on her two feet alone
that's all that matter.

Sandra Evans: A family relative.
Skylar Covell

Alana Reeves: Skylar is a very artistic person.
We haven't been able to see much of it for unknown
reasons so far but I hope that once she decides to make
a comeback we will see more of that.
She likes sketching you know..

Sandra Evans: Skylar's sister.
And a co Glory Women's champion with you.
Alexis Covell

Alana Reeves: My twin flame..
My soul mate (apart from Sonic).

Alexis I miss the most out of my family.
But as some of you might know she decided to take

a hiatus some time ago and focus on making a family with my brother.
Both of them wanted to explore and see what wonders the world holds.
Currently pregnant *spoiler*...

Sandra Evans: Now someone who for a long time was with you and Sonic.
As part of The Deadly Alliance.
Desmond Curtis

Alana Reeves: Tool...

Sandra Evans: One half of the Tag Team champions.
Vanessa Dynamite

Alana Reeves: Smart girl. Very modest,
very clever. Used to bring coffee for everyone
on her first few months. I rather enjoyed the lattes.

Sandra Evans: The other half of the Tag Team champions.
Diana La Cazadora

Alana Reeves: Tremendous athlete.
Great mentor. Great friend.

Sandra Evans: The Japanese woman.
Ayumi Hiroshi

Alana Reeves: AYUMI WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAT

Sandra Evans: One of the all time legends of ROG.
Drake Reinhardt

Alana Reeves: One of the reason I got my foot
into this business. Helped me a lot with the politics
and the overall outlook on the business.
Drake knows how to con the con-artist and that's

great trait in the long term.

Sandra Evans: Speaking of legends.
This guy is not just a legend.
Hes a legendary Goit.
Kadomitsu

Alana Reeves: Another huge part of my forthcoming.
I have been so fortunate to have all these legends around me.
What's funny is how real they are outside of the ring.
How generous, how gracious. People don't see that part,

people only see what they want to see and Kado is the master of this art.

Sandra Evans: And now, the man who many consider as having the greatest feud with the Goit.
Your own father.
Jason

Alana Reeves: My father is.. how do you even *chuckle*...
How do you really answer that question.
Who is Jason Reeves?
My father has this thing you know..how many people in the world

you meet and you have no idea what's their "deal".
My father is like the ultimate deal.. He ..He is everything
A father, a mentor, a friend, a mind, a bully, an artist.
He's the greatest man in the world for me and that will never change.
Despite his many failings he is the closest thing excellence that I can think of.

Sandra Evans: And now your own uncle.
Patrick Covell

Alana Reeves: Ah, Uncle Pat.
I love Uncle Pat.
Uncle Pat makes me laugh..

*she gets serious*
And Uncle Pat can kick your ass if you mess with his "niece".

Sandra Evans: Someone who won a ROG title in her debut for the company.
Charlotte Kelly

Alana Reeves: Never liked her

Sandra Evans: Big Bad John

Alana Reeves: Don't know where he went

Sandra Evans: Tammy

Alana Reeves: Cool girl. I kind of miss her,
her jokes were the best.

Sandra Evans: Next one.
Kid Kitsune

Alana Reeves: Manga chick

Sandra Evans: The juggler of balls.
Daniels The Juggler

Alana Reeves: *laughs*
Talented... with his balls.

Sandra Evans: Someone who hasn't been in Ring Of Glory very long.
But is a veteran in the Wrestling business.
Arkken The Archetype

Alana Reeves: We've only met a few times.
I think she's an interesting individual.
Hopefully we can meet again at a later time

Sandra Evans: Cerano

Alana Reeves: I think he's cool, but reserved.

Sandra Evans: Get ready for this one.
The man who you recently had some of your best matches against.
Aid

Alana Reeves: I can talk all day about Aid.
Every legend has tough me a part of this trade.
Aid however has spent the most time with me,

teaching me about "reading the crowd".
Very important as without the crowd their is no show.
And there really is no show without Aid so I'm learning from the best.

Sandra Evans: Next up, another huge name in ROG history.
Morpheus

Alana Reeves: Close friend with my dads.
I don't know of a man who can eat more
hot-dogs than him
and still he looks great.
Great guy. Great mind

Sandra Evans: And speaking of Morpheus, we come to his friend.
Mcmohr

Alana Reeves: I don't know Mike well.
But he's the only man I consider more professional

and devoted to this business than Marcus himself.
Sandra Evans: And finally.
Your husband.
Sonic Xavier

Alana Reeves: I love him. What more should I say.
I love you to the death babe and I miss you so much.
*kisses*

Sandra Evans: And thats it.
Thirty names.
Which equals the record so far for this show.
Which was originally set in the debut show.
When Aid got interviewed

Alana Reeves: I didn't know most of them..
that wasn't fair on your part Sandra.

Sandra Evans: We're almost now at an end.
And I have to say Alana, from you driving me here on your motorbike.
To our interview.
I've enjoyed every minute.
In fact, make that every second.
Of being with you today.
Any final words you want to say before we bring this interview to a close?

Alana Reeves: Just two..
stay tuned for what is to come

until the end of this year.
It's gonna be worth your while.

Sandra Evans: Those were nineteen words Alana.

-- Smirk --

Alana Reeves: That's what I said.
